Pastor Shawn Floyd

Shawn Albert Floyd serves as the Senior Pastor at New Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, where his deep faith and commitment to community service resonate throughout his ministry. With a compassionate heart and a guiding spirit, Pastor Shawn tirelessly strives to uplift and inspire those around him.

Growing up in Indianapolis and graduating from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1983, Pastor Shawn has always held his community close to his heart. His thirst for knowledge and spiritual growth led him to Crossroads Bible College, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree in 2007 and a Bachelor of Science in 2012. His dedication to his pastoral calling was further solidified with a Master of Arts in Ministry (Pastoral Studies) from Lancaster Bible College Seminary & Graduate School in 2016.

In July 1994, Pastor Shawn experienced a profound transformation in his life when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. This pivotal moment sparked a lifelong mission: to bring others to the understanding of God’s grace and love and to nurture them in their spiritual journey. Answering this divine call to preach on July 20, 2003, he was licensed at Carter Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Kelvin Griffin Sr. in 2007 and ordained at Loving Missionary Baptist Church by the late Sr. Pastor Dr. Jerome Anthony Clark in 2013.

Pastor Shawn is also the visionary CEO of Youth in Action Inc., a youth ministry devoted to offering teenagers positive life choices and steering them away from the dangers of street life. His unwavering dedication to fostering hope and encouraging growth among young people speaks volumes of his genuine care for the future of his community.

On September 5, 2000, Pastor Shawn married Donna, the love of his life. Together, they form a supportive and loving partnership, deeply involved in the life of their community. Pastor Shawn especially cherishes mentoring young people, always eager to lend a listening ear and a helping hand. His congregation knows him as a gifted preacher with a talent for teaching God’s Holy Word, but beyond that, he is a devoted shepherd and leader, called by God to inspire, nurture, and guide all who cross his path.
